“When I’m not working, I still love to read (with an eclectic taste) anything from Murakami to Malcolm Gladwell, and from autobiographies to the brief worlds of short stories where I revel, moving from one story to the next as if island-hopping through some magical archipelago.” Melita Eagling

For Melita, editing is second nature. Language and the written word have always fascinated her, and she’s drawn to the nuances that make each voice unique. She revels in the diversity of expression, whether spoken or written, and is dedicated to bringing out the best in every author’s work. Whether it's fiction or non-fiction, Melita approaches each project with the same enthusiasm, exploring new texts like uncharted territory.

Melita’s passion for language extends beyond editing. With a Bachelor of Arts in Indonesian, Mandarin, and Japanese, and a Master of Arts in Indonesian literature, she has delved into the socio-political themes in stories by Indonesian women authors. Currently, she’s adding Italian to her repertoire.

When she’s not immersed in language, Melita enjoys life’s simple pleasures—long beachside picnics with loved ones, gardening, and creating soft pastel art.
