Headshot of Melita Eagling, editor

I provide careful editing for writing that needs to be clear, natural and accurate, while preserving the writer’s voice.

Melita Eagling

I’m an accredited editor and proofreader based in Hobart, Tasmania, working with authors, businesses and other editors across Australia. I’ve always been drawn to language – not just how it works, but how it sounds and feels. As an editor, I focus on clarity, flow and accuracy, while preserving the writer’s voice.

My work includes manuscripts, business documents and reports, as well as subcontract editing for other editors. I enjoy working with writing at all stages, from early drafts to final proofs.

My academic background is in languages and literature. I hold a Master of Arts in Indonesian literature and a Graduate Certificate in Editing and Electronic Publishing, and I’m accredited with the Institute of Professional Editors in Australia.

When I’m not working, I still read widely and enjoy learning languages.
